About

Therapy Rooted in Connection

Jennifer Sousa, LMHC Owner & Therapist, Continuum Women's Therapy I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the founder of Continuum Women's Therapy. With over 13 years of experience in various settings, including community mental health, home-based outpatient services, and an inpatient treatment setting, I am dedicated to helping women navigate life's transitions with greater confidence, self-compassion, and resilience. The opportunity to support women through significant life changes, including the transition to motherhood, pregnancy and postpartum adjustment, relationship changes, career transitions, identity shifts, and other periods of growth and uncertainty is a privilege. I am passionate about supporting new mothers in particular who may be grieving the loss of their old identities, grappling with intrusive thoughts about risk factors for their vulnerable infants, worried about being judged in their new role, feeling disconnected from their own bodies, and so much more. I see you and know the courage and precious time it takes to reach out for therapeutic services. I understand that even positive life events can bring unexpected challenges and believe that therapy can provide a supportive space to process emotions, build coping skills, and reconnect with one's strengths. Throughout my career, I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, interpersonal challenges, and eating disorders. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practices, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other effective therapeutic modalities tailored to each client's unique needs. I am committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes. I earned my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and completed my internship at Boston Health Care for the Homeless, where I developed a deep commitment to social justice and client-centered care. My work has fostered a strengths-based perspective that recognizes each person's capacity for growth and healing. When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two toddler daughters, and our dog, often exploring the beaches, trails, and natural beauty of Whidbey Island together.
